[Chii] Word search order with !anime [TRACKED]

Post by wahaha »

I noticed that "!anime pita ten" returns the correct anime while "!anime ten pita" gives a "not found"; since I prefer making non-standard search-requests (like "!anime alternative hazard", "excellent slayers" or "Alone in the Shell") I count this as a bug :P

Maybe that search generally needs more "intelligence" as in "Best hit" instead of "First hit" (given it currently works that way ^^;; )...

well,

dunno, currently it's a really stupid search, it just replaces every space with a wildcard and appends a wildcard to the beginning and the end of the search string.
i don't see why we need more than that on a simple !anime request. but on the search page @ anidb cgi that might still be a good idea.
prob is that any fancy search will also put a higher load on the db.

so if anyone has an idea how to implement such a more generic search in postgreSQL in a fast way, plz drop me a line :P
