Make Hide synonyms in animelist aware of profile [closed]

Post by wahaha »

Currently, the "Language Preference"-option in one's profile allows to set the anime-title shown in the mylist.
In the animelist with "no synonyms" enabled however, only the main title (romaji) is shown, regardless of this setting. I'd like to suggest that the title as set in the profile is taken as official title.

i disagree that it should take the place of the "official title".
there's only one official title.

but, it could change what is shown as default depending on your preference ofcourse.

I agree with wahaha. If you set a preference then all the site should use that preference.

I was just about to suggest this actually. So count me in favor of the language preference applying to the entire site. Also ed2k links if possible.

I agree. It get's confusing when you have to look up an Anime under a different letter in your mylist and in the Animelist because sometimes you might actually be on a computer where you do not want to log in and then you _have_ to find the anime by browsing the Animelist.

One thing that is wierd is if you look at another user's list it shows it in their language, not yours or the default.

As long as we're at it, how about AOM too... It's real annoying to find a file AOM renamed and you can't find it in mylist because it is a different title.

(I know, wrong forum, but I bet if I put it in the AOM forum Petri will say that it is not supported by the API.)
