Problem running .mkv files

I've downloaded the Matroska Pack to play .mkv files but all they give me is two files that have .ax extensions. My computer doesn't know how to open these what do I do to either open them or get the splitter another way??

Sorry, it seems I forgot to add the install-instructions...

It basically works the same way as for vsfilter:

1.A) When using Windows 95, 98 or Me: Extract "MatroskaSplitter.ax" from the archive's "Release"-Directory to your "windows\system"-directory.
1.B) When using Windows 2000 or XP: Extract the "MatroskaSplitter.ax" from the archive's "Release-Unicode"-Directory to your "windows\system32"-directory.
2) Run the command "regsvr32.exe MatroskaSplitter.ax" (from Start->Run or the commandline).
