Mirc anidb script [DENIED/USE CHII]

Post by ShAmPi »

What about a anidb mirc script
so when you type in a channel for example:
!anidb kenshin
you get a reply with
url - title - OVA/TV - how many eps - genre - year - made by? - score

well,

ppl who want to have anidb irc triggers should hang out in #anidb or #anidb-spam.
offering client based irc scripts would put too much load on the server and might lead to abusive behavior.

This could be implemented in the AniDB client, tho. A mIRC extension DLL that interfaces with a locally running client which in turn uses it's local copy to answer the request. Just pondering, tho... ;)

But you could implement a plugin interface into your program. :P

Yeah and while he's at it he could also implement stats posting right into the IRC chat window. I want everyone to know how l33t I am ^_^

I think IRC script implementation for the Client should be the lowest priority. First PetriW should try to add all the current features of AniDB to the client and then he can move on to IRC :-)

With EXP adding features to AniDB all the time it's hard enough for little PetriW ;)

Additionally I don't want the client to get too bloated and of course that the hashing process won't produce any more sound effects ;)
