[REQ] Forum vs. AniDB [DENIED]

There's a file i've queued for which is currently nearly dead (5 people with the same parts missing, last seen complete 2 weeks ago), so I went to the appropriate page and looked at who has the file too. Now one of them is a pretty new user who did not yet register at the forums, does not hang out in irc (at least not using that nick) and can't be found in edonkey (when searching for the nick)...

Since reshare-requests are already on todo I thought of something... bigger ^^:
Why not combine the two? Something as simple (explanation-wise) as anidb-account = forum-account

I'm sure that it's (technically) not that easy and involves some planning, like "how should the registration-process work?" - since it should be kept as easy and fast as it is now ...
I mainly want to ask if there are any major reasons to not do so

Advantages:
* No need for a second logon -> More people/participation in the forums? (or the other way round if someone just wanted to register for the forums without an anidb-account)
* PM-system for asynchronous messaging (as opposed to IRC)

Disadvantages:
* Might make the registration more complicated and thus scare "let's try it"-users
* Accidential public Chii-auth becomes more dangerous (from 0.01% to 0.02% ^^) - I mean those "7Msg Chii[AR] auth ..."-messages
* Migration most likely involves some manual checking, since not everyone could use the same login-names

Wasn`t the idea to host the AR-forums in this forum? Since it was planned when AR moved away from SR, this would be the new AR-forum.
That way you don`t have too much trouble with synchronizing imo.

Well,

i've thought about this too, it would be nice to have...
BUT
- it's quite some hassle to implement
- anidb and forum would be required to use the same host
and that was something we didn't want.
the way it is now the anidb and the forum are completly seperated and use different databases (postgreSQL<->MySQL)! So moving only one of them to a new host is possible.
and anidb.net was only ment as a temporary host for the forum anyway.

dunno atm, sure some things have changed. maybe we should think about all that again.

I was looking for sth like this....

If this is the new AR-forum (is it the same for MR too?) why not create discussion groups like back there in SR? what are we (by me, I mean you
