Well like most people that use AniDB, they rely on it to keep track of their anime. I delete outdated encodes and replace them with new ones from time to time, or I simply delete whole series that I don't want anymore. When I mark these files deleted, they count towards mystats. If the status of a file is deleted, why would it count towards your mystats? The user doesn't even have the file anymore. Granted this could be solved simply by removing the deleted files from mylist, but then the user can't keep track of animes that they have seen or voted for in the past.
So my request is basically the topic's subject: Can files that are marked deleted not count towards one's mystats?
Status deleted files not counting towards mystats [closed]

Well, I agree with new that a deleted file should still count towards the anime, episode, file and watched counts, but I also agree with Ultima that it should not count towards the collection size.
However, I believe changing the way the states are interpreted is kinda difficult; at least that's what exp said when we were discussing a new mylist state such as "onqueue" to implement a file-based wishlist...

Why would a user want something that is deleted (meaning gone from existance -_-;; - I don't get why people get so confused) to be counted toward their stats? If anything, it would be deceiving to other users (like it really matters) and even more so to the actual user. I wouldn't want many series/movies that I have deleted to count to mystats to end up with a deceiving mystats that indicates that I have a large mylist when actually I don't.nwa wrote:I think it should remain as it is, I use !mystats only to see how many animes have I seen etc.
I'm sure there are many whos mystats count would decreese quite a lot then, that could also bring status changing from deleted to unknown for instance to keep their mystats the same...
My ideas:
1. Have two stats: A total mylist stat and an actual mylist stat
A total mylist stat would show the mylist disregarding files that are marked deleted. The actual mylist stat would take into account files that are marked deleted.
2. Mark eps watched/unwatched
As discussed in this thread: http://www.anidb.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=732
This would be good because it would help keep track of watched animes series without the need of files in your mylist. I guess then a deleted state wouldn't be necessary. But exp says that he's busy and hasn't found a solution for this yet

3. Simply don't count files that are marked deleted in mylist to mystats
If people want their deleted files to count to mystats they can simply mark them unknown or on cd, which is weird because if the user already deleted the file why mark it on cd or unknown? o_O
Well those are the solutions I can think of atm. I'd prefer the 1st or 2nd solution because the third solution can interfere with a user's % watched, etc. The best solution would be the 2nd one, but there aren't any ideas for that. So I think the 1st solution is good enough. One will show a total stat for those that want how mystats is done now, and the another would satisfy those that want accurate stats.
