Ogm = Subtitles?

I have the first episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion by the group zx. The file was an ogm file...and I expected subtitles with it, and the ability to switch between dubbed and subbed.

However, I was disappointed with loads of information from this forum that didn't really solve my problems.

The audio works fine; I hear the english--when I switch, I hear the japanese. BUT I STILL DONT SEE ANY SUBS!

I've tried some stuff that was found in several other posts concerning subs--but they dont seem to work (mind you, I might not have tried ALL of them).

Could you please tell me what I should do to solve this problem? Maybe SOMEONE could troubleshoot this problem away!

I have DivX Player, Media Player, Core Media Player, and Zoom Player. I have DirectVobSub--I think...but please just tell me what I should do should I only have Media Player (so that if others dont have the same things I have, this could be quite the informative post)

Normally I would have suspected the problem to be there.. but since it's solved anyway ^^;

On the topic of "Ogm = Subtitles": It's not a must to have softsubs (and dual-audio) in ogms, but it's still true for most of them.

There's a significant number of .ogm's with hardsubs... My Hellsing files are that kind, for instance.

... right - I totally forgot that .ogm-files were initially (and are still) used to compress the audio-stream in ogg instead of mp3 ^^;
