Its a completely different function.Iceman[grrrr] wrote:Meanwhile, use notifies on series you would like to have.
In MyPlace, there is a link to MyNotifies which states all your notifies, aka your wishlist!
And its rather pointless to use that as a wishlist since I'll get notifies that will mean absolutely nothing to me.
Not only does that not work for a wishlist function, but using it as such makes it harder for me to see the actual notifies I do want to get for series I'm in the middle of collecting and actually waiting for new files.
I wouldn't even mind that, just a different status that the mylist can be filtered by is all I (personally) really need.PetriW wrote:For example it would be BAD if the toget files were listed as files you have in the mylist.
Exp, maybe you can let us in on this... How much work is it to implement a new status into the mylist? How much work is it if files with that status have to be ignored by certain other scripts?
Nope. My logic dictates that adding a file status that results in the file being ignored in certain stats is equal to implementing a per-file wishlist.LStranger wrote:If you want just another state of your files (may be, with summary page available) then let it be another request.

Anyways, you're correct that a per-file wishlist doesn't help if an anime doesn't have any files - that's why I suggested that the notify feauture be extended.
Well, in the end it's up to exp - as usual

hm,
I am currently thinking about implementing the anime-based wishlist seperatly from the current notify feature.
It would get it's own page and it's own link on each anime page.
The wishlist would list animes with additional info.
you can select a type for each anime entry.
for now those would be
- new/unfiled
- toget
- towatch
(feel free to suggest more)
each entry can also have a priority (low, med(default), high)
and a free text comment field.
the entire page would then grouped by type with one table per type.
the entries of a type table would be first sorted by priority and then alphabetically by anime title.
each row would consist out of:
- a check box for mass changes
- the anime title (link to anime page)
- the priority (as image)
- notification yes/no (image: toggle link)
- mylist info eps-in-mylist/total eps (link to mylist entry)
- comment if available
- date the entry was added
(feel free to suggest more)
at the bottom would be a dropdown, a select all checkbox, a little text box for the comments and a submit button.
dropdown options:
- remove (selected)
- enable notify (selected)
- disable notify (selected)
- change to priority low (selected)
- change to priority med (selected)
- change to priority high (selected)
- move to toget (selected)
- move to towatch (selected)
- set comment (selected)
- ...
(feel free to suggest more)
what do you think?

I like it.
Addition: each row must have another two fields:
- wished quality (least quality for notification): any, mid, high, very high
- wished group (any if left blank) or group list (if it isn't hard to implement)
Then if you set in category "toget" some anime and some group then you'll get per-file wishlist as some people desires. Correct me, please, if I'm wrong.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the bottom part mean that the per-anime wishlist and notify feauture are essentially the same? Or would the disable/enable command simply add / delete animes from the notify list?exp wrote:I am currently thinking about implementing the anime-based wishlist seperatly from the current notify feature.

You're wrong.LStranger wrote:Then if you set in category "toget" some anime and some group then you'll get per-file wishlist as some people desires. Correct me, please, if I'm wrong.

It's just not the "Real Thing" (tm).

well,Elberet wrote: Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the bottom part mean that the per-anime wishlist and notify feauture are essentially the same? Or would the disable/enable command simply add / delete animes from the notify list?
the notify list is still seperate and it might incoperate additional features someday. however the option to toggle notifies from the wishlist is just an additional feature. using it will simply add/remove an entry in your notify list.
the difference is that, i.e. i have way more animes on my notify list (~120) than i will have on my wishlist and i think there are some other ppl who might do the same.
so basically merging notifylist and wishlist would make the wishlist quite complicated to use for ppl who have a lot of animes in their notify list but only want to keep track of small portion, or even different animes on their wishlist.
about the group/quality preferences @ notify, that would be a feature request for the notification feature and would (if ever

It's why I've proposed in my previous posting to let us have not only group but (comma or space separated) list of desired groups. That solution will handle the example you mentioned above.Elberet wrote:You're wrong.A per-file wishlist is supposed to store individual files (by their fileid number). A list of animes with a desired quality and group isn't the same and doesn't work in cases where an anime wasn't completely subbed by one group but was dropped halfway through and picked up by another group.

Then let it be (optionally) only first matched group in the list. So if you set list to "A B C" then you'll see:Elberet wrote:Nope, because Group A might have subbed episodes 1-5, Group B episodes 3-7 and Group C episodes 6-13.
.....
A 3
A 4
A 5
B 6
B 7
C 8
C 9
.....
So first group in the list will have the most priority, last one will have the least.

I like it EXP. I think it would work for me very well.
I have one question though I'm not clear on.
The towatch list would be the only one of the three where I'd really like it to be expandable.
I have one question though I'm not clear on.
Would these rows also be expandable as they are in the mylist? To show the eps I have in each one listed below. For the towatch section it'd be preferable if I could expand them to mark the eps watched as I watch directly from the towatch section. Or is it intended for us to use the link to mylist entry for that? I'd like to be able to stay on the towatch wishlist section to do this, rather than jump back and forth between mylist and the wishlist.exp wrote:each row would consist out of:
