I'm just starting to get back in anime after years and years of absence, and I was wondering what are poeples recommendations, toward the mecha genre? Movies and TV (new and old) show recommendations are welcomed.

Watch 1 or both or some other clone version of it ~.~ I heard that RahXephon has the better ending...

Gundam Seed + Destiny are also good.

Also the ongoing Eureka 7 which I need to check out (waits for batch...-.-)

forget about gundam seed, that's shounen Ai those male chars are almost gay dammit... if u want mecha u need something manlier!... for fun watch godannar for weird child like plot with some oscure stuff get gadguard shin getter robo is a must if u like old school stuff. Super robot wars original animation for ... new stuff without brain but kinda nice mechas... if they werent 3d i'd love them zegapain too is 3d but got a nice feel. Another child like show with oscure plot is overman king gainer... doesnt look like it got an end but hell... most animes noraday doesnt have a clear one either so... i'm starting to not care.

Dual paralel trouble is kinda gaish ... is like a mix of tenchi muyo and eva( no wonder the is a AIC Production ) is fun and ... if u are like me u may like it more than eva. Eureka 7 is a must if u like a OUT OF THIS WORLD plot. Full metal panic as someone said is a good choice but be wary fumoffu is a comedy is not about mechas at all even when they do have one ...
