anyway i unbanned you. have a look at our "anime" definition before you add stuff in the future.
you got banned to prevent you of possible adding more shit. on various occasions in the past tards added simpsons, family guy and heck knows what. as a basic rule people who add such stuff get a-banned.Fan-Made live action is not professionally produced and is not allowed in AniDB. If there are some live action scenes that are incorporated into an anime that otherwise meets the requirements and when looked at as a whole they can still be considered animated, they may be anime. Check the forum before adding anything like this. Examples are D.C.~Da Capo~ and Hanaukyo Maids.

I'm not a mod either, and I more or less wrote the original draft. I also believe that pelican knows more about Anime than I do... What I wrote was a compromise at the time between the existing mods/documentation writers. It wasn't a masterpiece, but it was a workable document at the time when we didn't have anything. Feel free to hack away, but if you make radical changes you need to expect that people will disagree. As far as the exceptions section, I felt that it was necessary to clarify and demonstrate what was OK in some of the gray areas. At the time people would keep bringing up those and that would more or less just be a place where we could point them for the info. Later on though there was a thread for animes to delete, so that made it a little bit redundant.
Actually I felt it needed more contributions when I posted it. I eventually did because people failed to say there was anything wrong with it... Edit away.Rar wrote:I like to think that anidb doesn't have mods, just exp and a bunch of pet monkeys. Anyway, the borders of this are fluid, obviously there's not going to be a complete-and-perfect state, egg need not feel his contribution is in any way inadequate, just 'cos stuff changes.
