Missing Button?? (Add to ed2k) or something similiar

Post by tonylast »

Not sure if it is a bug or anything like that.
Usually after logging in, users can expand the file list of a series, choose the files wanted and click on a button something like "add to ed2k" (or similiar).
The last few days the button which said "add to ed2k" button (or something similiar) was gone.

Image
In this picture, I have logged in, and am in the "hellsing" series, and have chosen a few files.
As can be seen at the bottom of the picture only the "add selected to mylist" button is there.

This is the same for any other anime series I tried.
Was there a change to the add to ed2k function??
I read the main page of anidb, didn't spot any mention of that.

Any assistance would be greatly appreaciated. :D

** Edit ** (Added in after second post)

There was a button that would load to another page which would show a list of the files "chosen" by the user from the file list. At the bottom of the list, it tells you how many files were chosen and the total storage space that would be taken by the selected files.
Then there was another button on the "list page" which would add the links to emule (or other ed2k clients).

Hello,
I've never seen such a button before.
I know it was a feature requested, but I didn't knew it was implemented.

Amour:
Guess my description was bad.

I mean there was a button on the bottom of the page which would load another page which lists out the chosen files. The loaded page would have a the ed2k links of chosen files, and details out how many files were chosen and the storage space needed for them at the bottom of the page, with another button to add the files to an ed2k client (like emule, etc) all in one go.

** Added almost the same information to the first post. **

But there is now option 'Export ED2K hashes', which can be used for such task (from this export copy desired hashes into clipboard and then in emule or other program paste them - simple and works even better than previously existing option, which sometimes failed to copy all hashes to ed2k client or even sometimes crashed browser or emule).

I tried that function (I tried all the buttons on the page) just to be sure I didn't miss anything.
The function seems to export ALL the files in the file list (at least thats what I saw).

Hmm... didn't know the old funtion failed sometimes.

Question: So the old "add to ed2k" button was removed intentionally from AniDB??
(Talking about the button and process mentioned in the first post).
Also referred to as the "previously existing option" in the post before this one.

Thanks for clearing that up (That the button was removed).

Tried out that "Export ED2K Hashes" function some more.

Question: Is there a way, to make the list produced show a list of Selected groups only (or even only certain files only)??

Is there away to make the "Style: hide fileinfo" a default thing (like I mean that the file info is Always hidden when using the "Export ED2K Hashes" function.

Code: Select all

ed2k://|file|Naruto_-_04_-_The_Trial!_Survival_Training_-_[ANBU-AonE](2943b5d1).avi|187103232|b9199de42153c6c05273a0c3285e56b0|
ed2k://|file|Naruto_-_04_-_The_Trial!_Survival_Training_-_[ANBU-AonE].avi|185986700|2430fbededa6e2eae2bcc1b1c70756a8|
These two ed2k links, where from the "Export ED2K Hashes" function.
As said earlier, it produces the list of all the files (sorted by group).
For this particular file, there was two entries (under [Anbu-AonE]).

Is there away to make only the file with proper (official) CRC appear on the list (or when there are two entries for the same file, from the same group) to have only one of the two entries to be listed??

The double listing (of the same episode) (by the same group) happens quite a lot.

Code: Select all

ed2k://|file|Naruto_-_32_-_Sakura_Blooms!_The_Back_of_Determination._-_[ANBU-AonE](4d42281a).avi|197150720|c3e10cc558e6a08aa3f6402831a7e714|

Code: Select all

ed2k://|file|Naruto_-_35_-_Absolutely_No_Peeking!_The_Secret_of_the_Scroll_-_[ANBU-AonE](4e9d14bd).avi|179288064|88c62da1af0f904567d400c133a101b5|

And there is more such occurences in the series (using Naturo as the example here).

hmm, I wonder why this button was removed? I mean, if not all file was exported u just need to press the button again and then u can be sure that all files were added to ur ed2k client.
And I think people can decide by themselves whether they want that button or use this "export ed2k hashes" link.
In my opinion removing this button was a mistake.

Can someone give me the link to the official statement of removing the button?

There's been a statement by a mod that it was removed on purpose, that's official enough.
Please don't make me nerf the thread.
