japanese characters to html

Post by DarthStef »

hi i was just wondering how u get the html code for the different kanji etc characters.

im doing a web site for an assignment at university and i want to put various japanese kanji in it. from looking at the source in the pages on anidb such as for dead aggressor, there is actual code for each character such as &.#33980;. (without the dot after the &)

i want to do various things such as have on the opening page "welcome" in various languages. iv got the kanji translation of it but every site i go to to look for the html code to it have strange characters in the source instead of actual code.

it would be ideal if there was some program that i can copy the character into and it gave me the value for it

thanx for the help

if you just want to convert some strings feel free to use:
http://anidb.info/cgi-bin/utf8tohtml.pl

the sourcecode should also be available in the development forum somewhere.
