where is teh permanet anime vote ? ^^
Moderator: AniDB
It looks permament vote is available only for few titles, which have already set ending date. 99% (maybe less, but ive checked mylist and find very few with this field) of titles has this date not set and are not available to perm. voting (i've just tried to set vote for 2 older titles, i watched yesterday - impossible). It too restrictive now. For new titles it is fine, but for older titles it will be very hard to find proper ending date. And for titles, which consist of only one episode permament vote should be available by default.
'perm. voting for an anime is now only possible if an end date has been added for the anime'
mean it 'perm. voting is posisible if end date is set AND is already reached', or only 'enough if end date is set, even if it is far in future'?

I'll go through the list today and add as many as possible, so that it hopefully won't be too much of a bother for most titles.Elias wrote:It looks permament vote is available only for few titles, which have already set ending date.
EDIT: Didn't come further than 1-167 today, with 6 titles still missing the dates since I couldn't find them
Playing around with the test anime, it looks like the range for "end date" allows something along the lines of "today + 2 years". As you can see, though, permanent voting is blocked until "today == last aired".Elias wrote:'perm. voting for an anime is now only possible if an end date has been added for the anime'

There is still problem with older titles. i've started updating titles from mylist and after few successfull found ending dates (ANN is best source for it) i've stayed with AIKA and Angel Cop - no airing/releasing dates found, but those are ended long ago. Maybe change rule into this:wahaha wrote:I'll go through the list today and add as many as possible, so that it hopefully won't be too much of a bother for most titles.Elias wrote:It looks permament vote is available only for few titles, which have already set ending date.
Code: Select all
if 'end date is set' then
if 'end date' <=today then
allow perm. voting
else
deny perm. voting
end if
else
if 'release starting year' > 'current year' or ('release ending year' != null and 'release ending year' > 'current year') then
deny perm. voting
else
if 'release starting year' = 'current year' or ('release ending year' != null and 'release ending year' = 'current year') then
if 'number of episodes with files for this title'>='Episodes' then
allow perm. voting
else
deny perm. voting
end if
else
allow perm. voting
endif
end if

You can, as the dates are all listed here: http://member.nifty.ne.jp/teraji/ova/ova_l12.htm (and now on AniDB aswellDonGato wrote:I mean I can't vote permanent with a series THAT old?

For regular OVAs, TV animes and movies, it really isn't that much of a problem to find out the rel/air-dates. So far, I've looked at the anime-IDs 1 through 209, and the titles I couldn't find the rel/air-dates for were:
... as Robotech is the cut version, so you won't find many fanpages that go as far as listing the TV air datesRobotech, Macross Saga: http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl ... ime&aid=57
Robotech Masters: http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl ... me&aid=152
Robotech New Generation: http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl ... me&aid=182
Animes first released through the web - and so far I couldn't find out when the streams were first available.Ajimu Kaigan Monogatari: http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl ... me&aid=118
URDA: http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl ... me&aid=122
Psychic Academy: http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl ... me&aid=157
Im still unsure whether Cool Devices is an anime of its own - or not rather a compilation of different animes with different rel-dates. As for Necronomicon, I guess I simply didn't look hard enough.Mystery of Necronomicon: http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl ... me&aid=159

So, that being said, I agree that it's mainly a matter of time; but there are some cases which can most likely not be solved without having the special "it ended" date rowaasr13 suggested.
I plan to wait a couple of weeks and then check how many old animes are still missing the ending date.wahaha wrote:So, that being said, I agree that it's mainly a matter of time; but there are some cases which can most likely not be solved without having the special "it ended" date rowaasr13 suggested.
Depending on the numbers we can think about a solution by then.
Such an "it ended but we don't know when" option would probably only be available to mods though.
BYe!
