New kid here, a question :)

Post by bluepariah »

hey im new here and just quickly figuring things out...

i caught on to most of what this site offers, quick question though...
*signup at anidb and login login
* use the searchfield (upper right corner) or the animelist (navibar) to find the anime you want to add
* expand the episodes on the animepage (the first(!) big "+" thingy Wink)
* check the boxes for the files you have, scroll to the bottom of the page to set watch and state of the files (both not neccessary as it can be fixed later as well) and hit "add selected to mylist"
I found this on another thread and on line 4 where it talks about checking the boxes, how do you know which box to check. I understand there are alot of choices and they'll all be valid, but how do i know which ones are in english? do you tell by the flag under stats?

Also if the thing is in japanese, do you know what program to use to get english subs? ive heard of something on divx...

Thank you in Advanced :)

U see what u have, if u look at:
- the fansub group (if u know it)
- the filesize

If any of this is not right with your fully functional file. You can add it yourself...for that you should at least make an ed2k hash.

The dubbed Language is the first flag
The 2nd flag is normally the sub language.

Just go with the mouse over the flag and wait....
or click on the fileid

Divx is just an video codec, such as xvid, wmv
ok, some subs have external subs, which are in an extra file, and that maybe the divx subs or something similar.
The extra files are also shown at the end of the ep list as extras.

but if there are no subs, then there are no subs known in the anidb.

And anidb is "only" an anime database not an sharing program or something like that.

You're clicking on the wrong icon, you need to click on the add to mylist icon to the right of the icon you're clicking.
And yes, the icon you clicked is working properly.
