The adding after update.

Post by Seikmann »

Hello. I have been on a long vacation, and I have not visited anidb for a couple of months or so...
The first thing that I noticed was a major update. I read something about that it would be preferable not to add animes to mylist manually, which I have always done. Just now I tried to add some episodes of Last Exile to my mylist, which was impossible because I was not able to choose the episodes and subgroup. First of all. That sucks big time! I have always been able to do so, why not now? Do I have to use that avdump? I have tried to use it before, but it never worked. (installation was the problem)
So, the questions i want answered is this:
#1 Am I not able to manually add to my mylist anymore?
#2 How do I add episodes to my mylist.

You can do it the same way it's always been done, just:
1) click the + button next to the episode, then for the file you want to add to your mylist click the "add to mylist" image, it's the one furthest to the right on a file row.

To add an episode to your mylist do the same as above but instead use the bottom file, it'll say "generic file" on the row.

You may wish to read up about anidb features on the wiki, your questions here for example are mostly answered on this page:
http://wiki.anidb.info/w/How_to_add_fil ... our_mylist

You can also use the "Add anime to mylist" form at the bottom of the page.

No, you should probably use eD2K Dump with an eD2K hasher application like this one:

http://www.alt-hacker.org/~HiEv/ED2KHasher.zip

It's an application I wrote for generating eD2K hashes for AniDB's eD2K Dump. Just unzip the files somewhere and run eD2KHasher.exe . You can turn on "Run From Explorer" in the preferences and that will allow you to right-click on files and/or directories in Windows Explorer and send them to the eD2KHasher program to generate hashes. Once you've generated the eD2K hashes just go to the eD2K Dump page, paste the hashes there, click the Add button, and the files will be added to your MyList.

It also has the advantage over a manual add in that you'll be sure that your files are not corrupted.

For more see:

Hope that helps! :-)

wouldn't using WebAOM be the simplest solution?
