It might be easy if you use ed2k at all to dl anime... for me making a list would take f o r e v e r

There should be a way to mass add anime to a list just using the anime names.

Right now my anime list is on Notepad. The font is set at 8 Tahoma and it fills up my monitor from top to bottom more than three times with the resolution set at 1600x1200... That's from just a year of watching anime... somebody shoot me.

actually creating an anime list is very easy if you still have the files.

All you need to do is download anidbomatic and cram everything you have in it. then selecting everything with the shift button and addind will take a few secs.

anidb has lots of nearly hidden features lying around you simply need to find them.

also one big problem of animnfo is that many series are not there so its problematic for peeps like me that enjoy wierd stuff.

And as far as comparing anime list you guys know that most peeps reading this forum have seen quite a bit of anime?

For example i have seen around 900 animes and im way below many of the regular forum dwellers

900 anime... that's alot. I've seen a bit over 250... 4,349 episodes and 18 movies to be exact. 900 anime... that's alot of crappy anime. I mean... I am totally running out and have been watching 'lesser' shows for a while now.

Busy bees there :) Though I probably shouldn't talk, my list is also well past 200 shows now. It's funny to think back, in the beginning I just had a handful of titles to check out such as juuni kokki (12 kingdoms), Lain, Noir, Evangelion but soon after I discovered AniDB I became almost all-devouring, watching title after title....sigh the road to Otakuness...

Well if you have already deleted your files all thats left is generic files wich take around 1 min to add since you need to mass add and then check the generic files of every ep slower then animenfo but not too evil normally

That's actually a pretty decently sized list you've got there, bloodomen.

Yours too kouta. Anidb's way of displaying lists is very detailed, but I just can't appreciate the design/layout of it. Not very friendly looking or easy to setup.

Soooo, I went ahead and made my own Anime List. Check out my list here: http://xinil.myanimelist.net. Easier to mass add anime and keep track of stuff over Anidb. But, of course if you're an Anime freak and details are your thing, Anidb is probably best for you. :)

Well pretty much every field is an optional field (aside from the series name). So if you don't know the started date or the finished date, don't fill it in. You can choose to not include the "Start Date" and "Finish date" columns too. Customization is the key. :)

Actually, I'd have to disagree.
Even if u deleted ur anime u can still add the regular files to ur list. All u have 2 do is remember the group that encoded it. And also, I always mass add my anime, I find individual adding to be idiotically unnecessary and gratuitously time consuming.

well, if you have a lot of files it isn't really practical to add them manually anyway. Just use one of the AniDB clients, that's the recommended way to do it.
And btw. if you use a client, Chii or the webinterface to mark your files watched while you're watching them, AniDB records your start/end-watched times too. The watched date+time for each file is stored.
