AOM 0.5.4 released!

Post by PetriW »

Nothing really special, mostly bug fixes:

Code: Select all

18-05-2005 version 0.5.4.237 ALPHA public release
! PetriW - Updated local api version to force redownload of anidb data due to the recent anidb group bug.
+ PetriW - Added support for state in the anime search.
+ PetriW - Genres in anime search should now work again.
* PetriW - Made some changes and fixes to sorting in animelist related trees.
* PetriW - The log is no longer read only, this so you can clear the log to free some memory if you have the client running a couple of weeks.
- PetriW - The number given on a dump update exception should now be MUCH more useful. ;)
- PetriW - Client now correctly updates the image server url when connecting to anidb.
- PetriW - Client now treat null integer columns as 0 and null boolean columns as false.
- PetriW - Known files list loading should no longer check the HDD for proper case information on filenames.
It's available in #aom on chatsociety until I get ahold of exp.

Ever since the update I get this error whenever I try to add new anime;

[5/20/2005 4:48:37 PM] - Loading mylist data...
[5/20/2005 4:48:37 PM] - Failed to update mylist - 147910! The error message was: Access violation at address 0041B818 in module 'AOM.exe'. Write of address 00000000

(although it seems it still does update though...weird)

i don't get a connection to anidb either. the new url in the client is api.anidb.info

could it be that this subdomain is non existant?

I tried changing the url to www.anidb.info but that didn't help either.

i guess there is something wrong with the api.

edit: problem solved, my change seems to be working. I deleted the files in my kowai folder to get everything running again and after a restart the update proceeded without a problem.

Try removing entry 147910 from your mylist (aka, mylist id 147910, not file id) then updating.
Or if you could give me what file Id your mylist id 147910 is. I can't do this though, only exp can. It's a pretty old mylist entry though.

Is there a fast way to find it....I have a LOT of anime in my list, over 250 series I think.

Also I just noticed this as well;

That's probably caused by the first error.

And I don't think there's any way except asking exp.

What's the easiest way to get ahold of him?

By the way, aside from those errors, the client works great :)

Exp says you have no mylist id with that number.
Please clear all files except the local_ ones in your kowai folder and redownload.

Note down ALL errors shown if you get some.

Done, no errors, works perfectly. I noticed that it re-created only about half as many files as I had in the kowai folder, not important just an observation.

Excellent release, and I appreciate the help, another job well done PetriW :)

OK trying out the new one Minor problems

So I start the program let it run like crazy. It downloads 13 files. that's fine.. The first one is 11.11 megs.. This I assume is the FULL anidb.net anime list. However is it supposed to download this every time I open the program? I remember there was supposed to be a way where you only downloaded a partial updated list or something, or has it always been this way? I don't think 11 megs should be normal every boot up of the program?

Here's a couple error messages

[6/21/2005 2:54:18 PM] Failed to update anime - 3431! The error message was: Access violation at address 0041B818 in module 'AOM.exe'. Write of address 00000000
[6/21/2005 2:54:19 PM] Failed to update ep - 38144! The error message was: Access violation at address 0041B818 in module 'AOM.exe'. Write of address 00000000
[6/21/2005 2:54:22 PM] Failed to update file - 155113! The error message was: Access violation at address 0041B818 in module 'AOM.exe'. Write of address 00000000
[6/21/2005 2:54:22 PM] Failed to update group - 2246! The error message was: Access violation at address 0041B818 in module 'AOM.exe'. Write of address 00000000
[6/21/2005 2:54:25 PM] Failed to update review - 2632! The error message was: Access violation at address 0041B818 in module 'AOM.exe'. Write of address 00000000
[6/21/2005 2:55:03 PM] Failed to update anime - 3432! The error message was: Access violation at address 0041B818 in module 'AOM.exe'. Write of address 00000000

I'm pretty sure not almost all of these are not my problem There's more but I think that's enough for now? and this might be why it tried to download a second time?

This program now doesn't download a third time, but I don't know if there's something wrong with the download or what?

As long as we're bugging PetriW..

Ever since upgrading to this version, I keep having this problem:
[6/21/2005 2:32:11 PM] - Trying to connect to AniDB...
[6/21/2005 2:32:11 PM] - Connected to AniDB.
[6/21/2005 2:32:12 PM] - Executing new AniDB command.

And it never does anything after that. If I manually tell it to hash things it will do it will do it, but it does not hash the configured directories automatically. Also, it does not connect to AniDB after that. If I try to close the application either it does nothing (I can keep clicking on the X and it does nothing...), or it comes up with an error:
Socket Error # 10054
Connection reset by peer.

I deleted all the non-local kowai files, same thing happens again. I deleted ALL of the kowai except the local config file, had it rehash everything, and the same thing happens again.

I can't reproduce anything of this so the problem is on your side for whatever reason. Make sure you have at least 1 entry in your mylist before downloading the dump and then delete all files except the local_* ones and restart the program.

If the problem persists you mist give a waaaaay more detailed description of your computer enviroment. (I mean REALLY detailed.)

This is an anidb api crash, it's not an aom bug. Unless you know what it's trying to do I can't verify it as I can't reproduce this either.

Copy aom and support files to a new folder with a clean kowai folder (aka no files in it). Can you use it now? If so then one if your local files is triggering a creq anidb can't handle.

The autohasher is "stalled" while updating from anidb, this is a feature. (yes! you like this) For current status see the tray icon hint.

Actually it is supposed to be 0.5.5.239, but yes it is there. This was a real quick patch to address the new way of handling specials. The next version will have the correct version number.
