RAW

RAW means japanese audio without subs (=> the way stuff is aired in japan).
As most ppl don't speak japanese those files won't be any good to them.
Therefore AniDB marks the ed2k filenames of all files which have been added with audiolanguage: japanese and sublanguage:none with an extra RAW tag.

It's "raw" as in "not subbed" (or with external subs) - from the perspective of us anime-fans outside Japan.http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=raw wrote:2 a (1) : being in or nearly in the natural state : not processed or purified <raw fibers> <raw sewage>
