Filename to reflect anime-title option [OLD REQ]

Since the "new" filename policy is on, i end up having the same anime with 2 different titles or i end up loosing track of them in mylist thanks to the namechange.

Since there is an option to i want to keep the old settings(english title), why the filenames are force-renamed?, shouldn't the files reflect the option you want?.

ex, full metal alchemist, i want my files to be named "full metal alchemist", no "hagane no renkin..."(and don't start with "rename them afterwards")

I think an option (listbox?) for every title (english? Japanese romaji? jap chars?) in MyList would fix that. I also wouldn`t mind such an option myself either ...

Well, I would like that also as well, as some titles with Japanese official names not even Japanese use them.

You`re Under Arrest perhaps? (Taiho Shichauzo)
Perhaps even Magic Knight Rayearth (Mahou no Kishi Rayearth) or Boogiepop Phantom (Boogiepop wa Warawanai)
And there are a few titles which are originally in English named, which I suppose the Japanese use in Engrish as well. No need to list that title with a Japanese translated name imo.

If you see the non-Kanji names used are not the romanji names.

If you're that inclined to use the Japanese then use the Kanji. If not, they already set english names for them.

Remember Romanji is a Gaijing thing...

Full Moon wo Sagashite is interesting, both Japanese and english in it's name, but there is a full japanese and a full english translation of the name.
The original name is ofcourse preferred over any full language translation.

Furigana allows such things. Do not mistake it as something "secondary" to base text. In such cases furigana is primary - it shows how you supposed to read, while "base" kanji shows how you supposed to understand it. They just love such things in titles or JPop lyrics. Furigana in FM title is reflected in AniDB as well, speaking of what, it'd be good if all japanese titles that use furigana to assign alternate spelling to title were converted to this kanji(furigana) notation.
