well...what is it?
is it a famous community or something, or why do AnimeDB put those awards on the winning series?
And how many people vote and stuff!?

AniDB was basically made by the AnimeReactor Community, and has in the past been closely affiliated with them.

recently, the affiliation has drifted apart, but still many members of AniDB are also members of ARC, and almost all members of ARC are members of AniDB. If you take a look at the recommended links section, you will see a link to the ARC forums.

This year, with the awards for 2005, around 300 people voted for each category, which is an increase with about 100 people from last year.

The exact results for the awards for all the years (2003, 2004 and 2005) are listed in this forum: http://forum.anime-reactor.net/viewforum.php?f=28
I am not sure if you need to register to view it or not.
