new idea for the site [DENIED]
plz put in all your anime's some more pic's.... not just one

hm,
dunno, this might be interesting.
on the other hand it will probably be quite some work to verify that all added links are acceptable.
i.e. ppl could spam urls which have nothing to do with the anime, add links to bittorrent pages, ...
it's a nice idea but i don't see how this could be implemented without putting a lot of extra workload on the mods. bc as i see it, every entry would need to be mod-approved to make sure we don't end up with unwatched links.

Add more mods?
Or pick up that other, old idea: Give "karma" points to active users (depending on number of files/episodes/animes added, number approved CReqs, reviews, whatever) and let this user group approve certain less-important database changes, such as new short names and synonyms, links, pictures, and so on.
But I guess this idea should be left in the "interesting but unpractical ideas" drawer.

i know the answer most people want is something directly located in AniDB, but since Anime Planet is a sister site (the "related series" link for a lot of the series in the db.. more to come soon, there are some series on both my end and the AniDB end that aren't linked because of syntax), i figured i'll chime in here.
there are approximately 380 series in the anime recommendation database (on Anime Planet), and out of those, only about 10 dont have 3-6 (usually 6) good screenshots. this includes rare series/movies, many of which arent on AniDB yet
(i need to get around to adding them). so, if you are looking for a convenient way to look for screens, follow the "similar anime" link on the series info page on AniDB, and then just click the camera icon next to the title, when it brings up that page on Anime Planet.

maybe then it may also be an idea for a web designer to start an Anime screenshot site? With all sites coexisting like that the Anime experience will improve too....
I mean... then nobody has to create a link.. If the picture site is set up in such a manner that AniDB can generate the URL automatically and the picture site knows what to do with the URL. (it can also be so that the picture site knows the animeantries, so that EXP just has to pass the entrynumber and there You go)

erm, maybe you haven't used the link to my site yet
the link isn't for screenshots, it's for the recommendation list generated by my database. the link takes you onto my site, not a part of AniDB.
i can understand wanting everything possible here on AniDB, but the two databases are very seperate entities, which both have their own unique capabilities and features. instead of just wanting screenshots immediately available here on AniDB cause its an inconvenience to go one more click, why not check out my site for that kinda thing? the sites are linked for a reason
both have useful information. granted, the primary function of my database is for the recommendations, but it has the lucky side effect of having 6 (good) screenshots for most series you'd need. the link wont go away, so i'm just saying, i don't see why it would be a bad thing to use another good resource in front of you for that.
