Remember ed2k dumps [DENIED]

Post by Iceman[grrrr] »

Let me explain it some more.

I post all my ed2k links into the ed2k dump. For each file which returns File Unknown, save the ed2k hash into a table. This way, when people add files, if I had them in this table, they are automatically added to MyList! If I add the file myself then simply delete it from the table.

Of course this check would have to be done periodically instead of each time people add files for performance issues.

Also this feature should be limited to avoid lazy people from leaving their files in that list and not add any files. So the number of entries should be the number of files the person added * <a certain number, 5 ?>.

A page should also be made to check the link in the table with simple checkboxes to delete the hash from the table. Also show the recent files automatically added to MyList to allow people to delete this entry if they no longer have the file and they "forgot" to delete it from the list.

I guess it covers it all. Any comments ??

hm,

some ppl sure are lazy :P
i dunno, sounds pretty complicated to me, why not simple copy&paste the links again yourself, from time to time?
another option would be to use an anidb client (atm only the .net client can do that) to auto add known files.

Yup, I sure am! :)

I would post those links from time to time but I have around 1000 eps not recognised by the db... the limit of 100 post at a time makes it a little time consuming.

Maybe change that so that it remembers the links but do not check them when files are added. Instead, the user has an option to launch a check when he wants!

less user-friendly but still a great feature to have! ;)

yeah, I'm still lazy!

Ano ne, doesn't that defeat the purpose of AniDB? If you have a file that AniDB doesn't know yet, just go ahead and add it...

Well, as I said I have around 1000 files not in the DB... I add them a little by little but if someone else does it before I do, it would be better, ne?

I did 27 today... and found 5 new files added by others.

Also that's why a limit should be set so people keep adding files instead of waiting for others to do so.
