[DONE]Change size+source

Post by upstream »

i would like to see 2 things changed in AniDB:
1.it is necessary to change the size of file which can be added from max 2.100.000.000 to atleast 5.000.000.000 bytes.there are many files who are over 2 GB.
2.include new options in Source like HDTV,HD-DVD and Blue Ray :)

i understand now why this wasnt implemented yet but you will need to make this happen sooner or later because some groups like KAA already did bluray rips and there are others who are doing hdtv rips like theora or psnr.why wait now when its best to do this sooner???

i hope that my suggestion regarding new types of sources will be implemented in future versions of anidb :)

adding new sources is like... 3 minutes work, or less.
either me or epoximator just need to be kicked enough to bother doing it :P

the problem is the 64bit integer for size values... that is a somewhat bigger change. but we'll do even that change someday, maybe soon.

if it takes 3 minutes to add new types of sources then do it.dont be so lazy :)
it is confusing now to see which files are hdtv rips because files are described as dtv rips.

i am wondering now,if you used 64bit integer what would be maximum size that could be added???

9,223,372,036,854,775,807 bytes (= 8 EiB) if signed, twice that if unsigned.

not that adding it to the tracker will make it happen faster, but it will someday get a status change :P
though on this particular issue it probably will happen fast.

With fast meaning within the year. Since EXP usually waits 2-3 years before actually making those changes ;)

Well it has been 2 /12 years already, so soon is probably a good time frame...
