Reason:
The group-id doesn't really give important additional information. The only reason for the user to have the gid would be for a "!group <gid>", but "!group <tag>" is equally short.
I wouldn't bother if it wasn't so easy to mistake the ep-number with the group-id, especially for a gid < 30.

hm,

there might be some groups which are only accessible via their gid number though as chii is not case sensitive atm, but anidb is.

=> if there are two groups one called "aF" and the other one "af" you might not be able to get the "aF" entry without the gid.
haven't verified this though.
