I have noticed a few annoying tricks from groups. Once a group starts a series and you put a notify on that series by 'group', it notifies you of every update from that group for that series. Works like a charm, really.
The problem lies in when that group decides to do a joint after xx eps. Let`s say, Anime-Keep does series X alone for 3 eps, then joins with Anime-Faith (yes, all names are purely coincidental) for the rest of the series. While I get the 3 notifies from when they did it alone (or 2, taken that I put them on notify once I added the first to MyList), but after that I don`t get any notifies anymore. I tend to forget to check that page (I don`t use the notifications for nothing) and only much later I find out that they had merged with another group.
Of course, the reversal happens as well. Anime-Keep and Anime-Faith working together, only to split up after 3 eps. It will be harder to determine which group to follow, though.
So, my question is, is it possible to make the notifies dependant on the group no matter which joint they do within that anime-series?
Not sure how to handle this, unless it`ll happen by using the 'notify on group dropping title' option. Yet, I have seen often that joints weren`t marked as dropped when they split up, so it`s not a flawless workaround. But perhaps that has improved by now?

basically merging the joints with their parent groups and adding the groups seperately to the anime making them form "virtualgroups" like i called it in the tracker would fix some problems
furthermore more relations, some other fields for the groupentries, groupstatus completely setable by mods AND creqable by users
and let me quote you on from one of those threads:

That would indeed solve the problem I experience, I believe. Since you have a 'group' on notify, joints consisting of seperate group-id`s would still trigger the notify.Der Idiot wrote:basically merging the joints with their parent groups and adding the groups seperately to the anime making them form "virtualgroups" like i called it in the tracker would fix some problems
Jup, thanks for the heads up, Baka-sama Good to see there are more people (or bugs ) who noticed this (although not solely with the notifications)
