A field for the board URL of a team [closed]

Post by Amour »

For a team, you can provide an URL of the official website, an IRC server, an IRC channel...

I would like to see as well fields for:
- an URL of the official board of the team
- the official banner of the team
- the language flag of the team (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, ...)
- the foundation date of the team
- the end date of the team (if dead)
- the alias of the team leader
- the number of team members

Thanks :)

How is a team different than a group?

sounds ok. but finding it yourself via the mainpage of the group might also be a solution. ;)
- the official banner of the team
only very few groups have such things. besides i don't see a use for it
- the language flag of the team (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, ...)
sounds ok
- the foundation date of the team
useless input. besides who the hell should know such things
- the end date of the team (if dead)
a specific date is useless imho, but a flag or a field to show the group is dead sounds like a good idea.
- the alias of the team leader
useless imho
- the number of team members
changes too often and some groups might not even know how many are in. besides who gets counted. do part time helper get counted. how much rels do you have to done to egt counted... bla bla bla..useless input imho

only the dead status sounds really useful to me. the languageflag for the groups is an option, but not neccessary.

IMO. Most not needed and hard to keep track. The only two things that IMO can be useful are the languages handled and the dead flag.

IMO even the dead flag is useless. There lots of groups, that didn't release anything for months or even years, everyone thinks they are dead, and then suddenly they have a release again. Think AnimeFactory, think Animeheaven, think AOI-Anime, think HQA, think NLA, ....

Well, the dead flag is not meant for them... just for the ones officially saying they are Dead. Not that we can't revive them thereafter anyway. ;P

Has some good ideas to it...
I would like to see the feature with the flag or as an alternative just a field saying german english or whatever...

+ when they were founded, would be interesting :)

Can't the "language" not easily be seen when you have a look at the files a group releases? And what do you do with groups like zx, who releasesd stuff like Tsukihime, where you have 10 languages, but their usual release has english audio/subs only?

You can figure out the languages if you want, but why not have the system do it. It could list every flag that is used in any of the files for that group. Better yet it can list the number of files that match those flags. For instance:
Image 100 files
Image 50 files
Image 100 files
Image 25 files

Actually maybe this would be more useful:
Image Image 50 files
Image Image Image 25 files
Image Image Image Image 25 files

well, sure.

I never visit the group page anyway, so if you want, you can put a picture of a dancing banana there as well ;) Imho this is redundant, but sure, it doesn't hurt anyone, so put it up.

It doesn't hurt but adds more load to AniDB and I prefer to be used for less trivial things.

If this info is only updated once a day, when there's lot of data retrieved for update anyway it won't matter much. It is likely that this data is already retrieved for some other purpose, anyway.
