Req: Field for original (Japanese) episode titles [DONE]

Req: Field for original (Japanese) episode titles [DONE]
Now the change has been made to include the title of an anime (in Japanese) in the info for an anime,
I would like to request the addition of a field to store the original (ja) title for episodes as well.
I don't know if there'll be a lot of AniDB users who will actively use this, but it's always nice to have the original title for future reference.
Besides, the translated English ones sometimes don't make too much sense (well at least to me). Thanks for considering.

First, I'll throw in another vote for this feature, I'd like it a lot. Second, when (if) this is implemented could there be an option to have AniDB generate filenames entirely in Japanese? Example:
SeriesName(Jap)_-_EpisodeNumber(第1話,第一話,etc.)_-_EpisodeTitle(Jap)_-_[Group](CRC)(dub.sub)[AniDB].filext
Or to use a real example, this filename:
カウボーイビバップ_-_第06話_-_悪魔を憐れむ歌_-_[zx](08539ef2)(dub.sub_jap.eng.eng)[AniDB].ogm
Instead of:
Cowboy_Bebop_-_06_-_Sympathy_for_the_Devil_-_[zx](08539ef2)(dub.sub_jap.eng.eng)[AniDB].ogm
Or even:
カウボーイビバップ_-_第六話_-_悪魔を憐れむ歌_-_[zx](08539ef2)(ダブ.サブ_日.英.英)[AniDB].ogm :P
I suppose there could be user preferences about whether you wanted episode numbers in kanji or Arabic numerals, whether you wanted 第6話 or just 6, etc. Obviously this would all be turned off by default for people without computers set up to accept Japanese file names, but available for 'purists'.

It had been mentioned that some (or most?) ed2k-clients couldn't handle such links... well, let's test it:
[url=ed2k://|file|テストファイル.txt|100|12345678123456781234567812345678|/]ed2k://|file|テストファイル.txt|100|12345678123456781234567812345678|/[/url]
(using unicode as that's probably the only option for automatically generated links anyway.)
Running eMule (42e) with japanese locale makes it add the above link with some odd signs ("繝・せ繝医ヵ繧。繧、繝ォ.txt"). If that's not caused by an error in my ed2k-link, that problem should be resolved in eMule (and probably other clients) first.

It's true that emule, at least, doesn't handle such links, but that doesn't negate the value of the feature. One possible solution would be to have romaji and kana fields separately for the title, as is the case with anime.
Disregarding using files thus named, it would be nice to store the Japanese title purely for informational purposes. We know that all fansub groups don't translate titles the same way, so it would at least be providing further information.
Edit: This was a response to wahaha, but it can be taken generally. Especially if wahaha was responding specifically to comments regarding naming files thus and not to the idea itself, which it has just occured to me might be the case.

Indeed, I was only commenting on the followup-request about ed2k-links. As you wrote, having both romaji and kana might be a good workaround here.gholovo wrote:Edit: This was a response to wahaha, but it can be taken generally. So, about additionally listing episode-names in japanese:
+ It should be fairly easy to add this feature
+ The info is easy to find, so it 'only' takes a few dedicated people & a lot of spare time
+ "leetness"-factor, just that
- The use is very limited (or rather, the group of people who want to use it)
- Those who add new episodes will most likely not include that info, so this feature would provoke a constant flood of creqs
Huh, why would it require CReqs to add original titles? It's a separate field after all kinda like titles for animes, aka you can add the title and only have to CReq when you want it to be updated.- Those who add new episodes will most likely not include that info, so this feature would provoke a constant flood of creqs
As it is now, I constantly (well, whenever I feel like it, actually ...) flood the mods with creqs which basically just include the following comment for each episode:wahaha wrote: - Those who add new episodes will most likely not include that info, so this feature would provoke a constant flood of creqs
Original title: 「ブラーブラーブラー」
