Apparently exp likes to be able to search with spaces in the patterns so I don't think you'll get a rtrim. 8O

?
all the search i did with an unexpected space at the end returned 0 result, so in my opinion it would be usefull. and im not speaking of a trim, only a rtrim.

I agree.

I can see exp's point of view, for instance if you did a search by "angel" you would get Evangelion as a result, but if you put in spaces you could restrict it to the word itself.

The challenge is when the space is at the beginning or end of the string. Here is an example, if you search for "Campus" (no spaces) you get the following list:
  • Bakuen Campus Guardress
  • Campus
  • Combustible Campus Guardress (see: Bakuen Campus Guardress)
  • Nightmare Campus
If you search for "Campus " (trailing space), it takes you directly to:
  • Bakuen Campus Guardress
because that is the only anime that has a physical space after it.

What would be ideal is if a trailing space could be either a space or end of string. Similarly a leading space should be treated as a space or a beginning of string.

For this case way "Campus " and "Campus" would return the same results. This would solve peoples' issues with an accidental trailing space, because usually that space would be an end of string, and this would make it match appropriately.

BTW, exp, if you consider this, but need help with the SQL, just post it and we can figure it out.
