Wikipedia links [DENIED]

Post by skuld »

http://wikipedia.org is a community-made wiki enciclopedia. It does have nice articles about anime, too. The idea is to make it possible to link each one of our animes to their article about it, like we do with animenfo and animeplanet at the moment.

Does wikipedia really cover more than ~100 animes? I somehow doubt it (see Wikipedia:List_of_anime)...

Although Wikipedia is a great page/project, it lacks both a certain dedication to anime and a structure for this kind of entries, so while some wikipedia-links would deserve to be on top of a "more information/links"-listing, it isn't enough to include it as a database-link, IMO.

If anything, I'd rather include links to ANN's Anime Encyclopedia ^^;

yeah,

i think ANN's Anime Encyclopedia looks much more interesting.
however i guess this should actually be some kind of feature request about being able to add "additional links" to an anime entry which could point everywhere.

I guess that will not change unless someone does something about it. As Wikipedia is a fully colaborative project (so much that is a wiki!), we can directly do something about it. Every one of it's anime pages can be edited by anybody... so easy to cooperate. As easy would be, too, to add links from their anime articles there to the appropiate anime nodes here.
Interesting, isn't it?
