Ok, so mylist can show the animes you have in the English title. But the actual filenames have changed too :/

Is there any way that the AniDB will point to an ed2k link which will give an english filename?

E.g. I have Fullmetal Alchemist episodes 1-15 in english, 16-20 in romaji, 20-24 in english... and this also happens to many other animes. 1) I can't sort the files in my hard disk and 2) AFAIK when a filename changes in emule then the creditability of that file is decreased (you won't see the green exclamation mark) eventhough it's ok.

But I'm mostly concerned about the sorting out thingy, and because I dl many different animes, few eps at a time, I have a VERY hard time sorting them out.

I hope there's something that can be done...

No, that's entirely based on the hash (which doesn't change by that, of course).

Nonetheless, I second your request... (at least for [romaji and] english - I'm not sure how well the various ed2k-clients handle kanji or the other possible unicode-characters, let alone the underlying file-systems ^^;)

Most modern FSes handle unicode in some form, but, alas, ed2k protocol does not. It pases file names in current ANSI cp set in system (in eMule - not exactly sure how other clients behave), so to dl files with japanese filenames both uploader and downloader must have japanese locale. Same thing for any other language that extensively uses chars higher than 127.

I seriously doubt this since I get the same sources when using kanji titles as when I use romaji titles.

Are you talking about eMule or BT?
Then it's impossible you get more sources because of the file name as both use hashes to identify the files in the network.

but.. I must be missing something... the title is in romanji... there are no letters in romaji that would cause problems in character encodings as they are the ordinary characters used in English language

Actually in emule, in every file's details (right click-> show file details) you can actually rename the output file according to what other names does this file you're downloading has...

But don't you find it a bit difficult to rename each and every file you dl, just to have that proper name which will help your sorting out?

Because not everyone is equal or like the same.

Because some people don't like dashes right after the series name and the ep number, some don't like them between the ep number and the fansub group, some like underscores in their files, some want the CRC checksum in the filename, some even like the episode name in the filename and so on and on and on. Some even leave out the fansub group tag and live happily ever after with files named like this "EVA - 01.avi"

well,

I think using AoM would help you a lot there, it allows you to do renameing according to customizable rules.
however, using the language set in the preferences for the ed2k links too is on todo.
