Preserve the text written in a message [DENIED]

Post by Lion »

I wrote a (very!) long private message, and then I clicked on send message. I was returned an error saying the body was too long :? . When I hitted back I was presented with a blank message 8O . I don't really think I'll have the strength to write the message again
It would be nice if, in such cases, when you hit back the text entered before is preserved, so to not rewrite it again from the start. I think the same "protection" should be added when writing a review.
Thanks :D

Just get a better browser... Opera for example. 8O
Or get the habit to always copy your messages before you submit.

Well, partially, it's indeed a client-side problem... but it would be nice nevertheless if the error message could be changed so that it prints the original message, such as...
  • Error
While processing your message, an error occured. The message body is too long. This is the message that failed:
    • To:
      Subject:

      body

Or maybe reopen the send message window, with the fields completed, and the error message printed before the "To:" edit box!

Firebird and Mozilla have no problems, btw. :P You can even reload a page after filling out a form on that page, and the form's still filled out! :D ;)

I consider this a browser/client bug.
If you have problems with it, change your browser.
I don't plan to change the form handling any time soon, there are just way to many things to do @ anidb which are way more important.

Btw. due to extensive security problems i strongly advise against using M$ internet explorer at all. Same goes for Outlook/Outlook express as email client.
