genre preferences for anime hint [DONE]

The hint facility is very nice, and a great idea, but I can see one way that it might be improved / tweaked.

It would be nice to be able to set weightings for the various genres in my profile and have the hint system take these in to account.

As an example, I am not overly fond of the mecha anime genre, giant robots are less interesting to me than super-powers, vampires or Comedy genres (hey - it's my preference and I respect other peoples). Perhaps we can set up a simple rating in each users profile for each genre - suggestion would be something like a drop-down box with the followng (doubtless better titles for this could be suggested by the fellow fans out there):

Preferred
Watched
Disliked

When the hint is displayed it would then take in to account these preferences and put a scaling on the rating - perhaps a drop of the score by 30% for disliked, an increment of 30% for liked etc as an initial implementation.

This would then dovetail in nicely with the other suggestion I've seen here for putting in percentages for how much of a genre does an anime cover ( 30% mecha, 80% action etc) - by showing a Disliked rating in my profile that % could then be discarded from the rating shown and sorted on in the hint section.

Just an idea, but I'd be interested to see what other people think of it. Hope I've made sense in what I'm trying to explain

yeah,

this would in deed work nicely once some kind of genre rating is included for animes.
however until then it's postponed.

I'd just like to be able to filter certain genres out of the hint. Don't really care about a weighting system, though I suppose it would be nice later on. If I could just tell it to ignore certain genres that'd bee good for me.

Like hentai. I don't care how high up on the hint list it is, if its hentai I'm not goint to watch it.

Its definitely not a priority for me though, to be honest I don't use the hint feature much other than out of curiousity every now and then. I just find it amusing to see some of the things that come up there that I know I wouldn't want to watch.
