AniDB reverts changes? O_o [CLOSED]

Post by OnegaiNL »

Sometimes when i change something in my mylist, it get's reverted after
a while... i have had this a few times and every time i'm like i'm
pretty sure i did that yesterday or something.

When burning and changing something in the database i do this:

1. Burn the DVD
2. Check the directories what is in it and what episodes
3. Add the anime serie name + episode numbers in txt file
4. I change the burned episodes to 'On CD/DVD'

While doing step 4 i look at the text file and change my mylist with it.

And with some series like W-Wish i'm very sure i've full changed it to CD/DVD so it's kinda weird.

I think it will be hard to confirm since at first i thought it was just my imagination but it seems it isn't.

Btw the AniDB o'matic didn't update all the files.. mylist stayed the same, so i deleted the files in the kowai map and it updated correctly, maybe the client has put back the settings it had in the files that were in the kowai map.

AoM doesn't do anything such unless you have checked "Correct data if different" enabled. Which is advised against.

I have *occasionally* had problems with AOM updates not sticking, generally due to some bad data in the api that causes the update commands to fail (which isn't always obvious, check the log tab for errors) - in these cases deleting all the db files but local_ fixes.

I had the same experience about a year ago, but it did cease after a couple of days. I made my changes via browser, so it shouldn't be an AOM-caused problem. But as I said it ceased...
