ed2kdump ADX LoveHina [FIXED]

Post by Guest »

HI, I just tried to add the ADX Love Hina eps to my list using the ed2kdump-feature.

I scanned the cds (3 eps each) with emule and got the ed2klinks which I pasted to the correct box. The first cd went in flawless, but the next cd (eps 4-6) were added as eps 8-10 so either there are some file-hashes misallocated in the db, or there might be a little glitch in the selection-algorithm.

Then I would like to add that it would be a good idea to add two boxes to the ed2kdump page, where you can optionally specify the source and the storage for all those files which will be added.
Another idea would be to set the CRC-verified flag for those files, as this can be checked by the file's ed2klink.

For unknown files which are submitted by the ed2kdump, it would be a good idea to have an AddThisfile-Request-box, where I could fill out the additional info and link it to an anmie.

Although there is still some work to do, this project looks very promising to me.

As there are some feature-requests in my original post, should I cross post these to the feature-request board?

Please specify the hashes you entered there ;)

AOL :) (= I second that ;))

Err, no, not exactly.
Imagine the following:
1) Someone gets his file off IRC and does not check back the CRC, now, for this example, the file he got has a hardly noticeable corruption somewhere
2) That person shares the file on ed2k and publishes the link
3) You get the file and have the same hash as the one posted, but with a different CRC from what *the group/fansubbers released*

Every file has a certain combination of md4-hash and crc. The question is if it is the absolutely right one - the same file as originally released.

Now, if you have some SFV-files from ADX or got a list of their CRCs off their homepage (dunno if they have such), feel free to change the file's entries for it ;) (Click on the File-ID and then "Request Edit")
That way, it's changed for everyone who has the file in his/her list.

[I'm not sure how one should judge .sfv-files included in an ed2k-release... they should be the original ones, though.]

Indeed, it would be useful, but it's hard to integrate it in the current concept...
The CGI can hardly "guess" to which anime the files belong, so you'd have to choose that first (out of a list of >500 animes) - and I guess you'd be faster if you used the search.
(Small additional drawback: If you could add the files in such a way, there'd also be the disadvantage that you might feel like adding the files regardless of existing entries, which might - in case of corruptions - blow up the amount of files listed.)

Buuuuut (geehee ^^, this one's for EXP)
Imagine a "cart"-system like in any online-shop. Now, after having used ed2kdump, you could decide to add the unknown files to your "cart". Then one might (manually) move to the anime-entry, go to the episode, select "add file" and then "check out" the right file to the input-field (with some kind of drop-down? under the ed2k-field?) and add the other info.

After all, your idea of adding files right after doing the ed2kdump might encurage people to add their (yet) "unknown" files while also checking the existing entries.

(Although I'd simply use notepad as a copy&past central )

Well in meantime I figured out, how the corruption-check-system here works, so my suggestion regarding this is utter nonsense.

I'm adding some files now (esp. some german versions are still missing).

SoI'm not sure what caused that strange behaviour, but now it works very well.
