In my testing, this does not appear to be true, because if I raise min. weight so that there are only a few users taken into account, it will still give me hints.

well,

i never said anything about 8 users.
what i am talking about are votes >= 8.
anime hint does only makes use of votes >= 8.00 by the users which are taken into account.

i will look into the anime hint stuff again some day.

OK, so I misunderstood that... Let me clarify something else... If it only takes into account votes that are >= 8, then it will ignore votes < 8 for the same anime. For instance if you have 2 users vote 8 on an anime and 5 users that vote 5, it will only calculate the score based on the 2 users that voted 8, correct?
