Many people won`t have heard of those before. The Mainichi Awards are a series of cinematic prizes awarded annually, sponsered by Mainichi Shinbun (毎日新聞), one of the largest newspaper companies in Japan, since the end of the war.

As it`s easily visible the banner are all the same atm, which is also a reason of this newspost. We are looking for someone or several people to create some funky banner for the mainichi awards. The thought is to at least have banner with different yearnumbers to be able to differ easily between them without having to check the wiki all the time.

The banner should be 300x50 pixel!

Since probably only a handful of people know what the Mainichi awards are, perhaps you should've given them a link to explain this?

slightly off topic - but I was wondering why we aren't listing more awards, like the academy awards for example? And before rar goes all "nuke hollywood" on me, I'd like to point out that the academy awards is the most recognized award in the world, regardless if they're all tards or not.

We want a banner which will be shown by the animes which wins.
So something like the animereactor banner...only for that award.


That's why we shit on the academy awards here (or are there animes in it?)

Spirited Away won one. That's about it. Maybe Howl's Moving Castle for the upcoming Academy Awards.

Suppy, simply because of all the animation in the db, there have been exactly two nominations, and one win. No point, really. I'm gonna add the Japan Media Arts ones at some point though.

I've spent the day going through imdb and the first 500 aids of anidb (yes, I'm a monkey), and have made a file with lots of awards including nominations and wins for those animes - will do some more and then put it on the wiki for people to peruse. I don't expect all these awards to be listed in anidb (cause there are _alot_ of them), but having them on the wiki can only be a good thing I think =)

uh i don't like the idea of animated banners. you may use pictures of the anime that won that year though
