hmm parody eps. O_o either under special like now or maybe better give it an own section "P#" which can be disabled in your profile.
or even simpler: a parody icon.

also the ep number of the series could be a problem as it would often vary depending on wich order we take. Then when would a series be completed?

O_o either we triple that as well and it changes depending on the ep order or we use one of the 3 as standard. or rather 2 as r1 is out of question for being the standard. tv would be the easiest as thats for most already correct.

well tripling it would be the best but i dont know if the database is made to handle that as it would not only affect the users but also the groups doing the series.



i would go for the parody subs section that can be disabled as it isnt something that i consider "made officially"
and i know im not the only one.


if different completed status are impossible i would go for the jap DVD release as it normally contain more than TV and isnt restricted by the usual censoring or time constraints that can force some changes on TV. Because of this, I usually consider the DVD's to be more like "the way it shoul be".

The problem with Fullmetal Panic? Fumoffu is now starting too. For example Anime-MX recently released episode S3, S4 and 2, but someone has added the releases as 1, 2 and 3.

I guess that all future groups will never encode the broadcasted episode 1 again.

For what it's worth, as one of the few people who actually likes Arjuna, I'd welcome having episode 9 moved to its proper place. I'm not sure why it was originally omitted when the series aired, but episode 10 (now numbered 9 in AniDB) clearly picks up from the scene at the end of episode 9, so I don't think by any means that this episode was an afterthought/special.

It's not quite in the same situation, but Pokémon Chronicles is a mess as well. The English release (you can't blame the US for this one it is originally released in the UK) are a mix of the Japanese release plus a few other things not previously released outside Japan, I put in the following disclaimer:

Pokémon Chronicles shows the episodes from Pokemon Housoukyoku as well as specials from the original Pokémon Series AND Pokémon OVAs. These items are added to the database as they were released in Japan, so the order is slightly different. Well, in this case they are episodes not much relate with the story IMO.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have small icons to specials and DVD-only released episodes, as well as TV-only recaps? You could put a small "TV" icon next to the two TV-specials in Chobits, you could simply add a small "DVD" icon next to the DVD-only episodes.

That would not help the problem with Pokémon but all the other stuff could be marked and nobody would wonder what the difference is, without too many questions raised by the episode order.

I need help with Dogtato

Triad released 1-25. There are new eps and the old order got mixed as well. For the time being, I added the extra eps as "special ep" with the epnumber they have on the DVD. This however does not reflect the different order of the other eps obviously. Also, how should I add the files? Triad released them as 2 files containing ep 1-13 and ep 14-25...

Personally I think an extra entry like for GANTZ is justified to have a clean order. Hard to tell what the original "intention" was though, as there's no continous story at all, so I'll leave it up to you guys.
