First of all, if you get a private message, you notice it. So if you click on it to view the inbox, it should not pop up a notice that you have a new message. After all, you just clicked on it to view them.

If you see the little note in the menu with 1 new message clicking on it pops up a box - which you don`t want; you want to see your inbox.

If you see a message and close it because you don`t want to have too many windows open, it should stay closed, since it pops up everytime you try to browse the site. You know, sometimes you just don`t want to check your messages rightaway, but rather wants to do the stuff you came to do before you forget ...

Removing the popup would be nice as it doesn't help at all.

Well,

the following changes have now been implemented:
- clicking the x msgs link in the lower left no longer shows the popup but directly the mymessages page
- there are no popups on the mymessage page
- there is an option to disable message popups in the profile settings

i guess this takes care of any problems/complains?
