Please consider restoring the text ("link"?) under the ed2k column in expanded anime-lists. I find the icon is too narrow to allow speedy/convenient clicking. Also in IE the right-click menu for image-links is much larger than that for text-links, and I often need to select "Copy Shortcut" for individual ed2k-links. Please return the text or offer a text-only alternative. TIA!
I think that the point on using images instead of text was to put more information on the screen and to make the tables smaller than before. Anyway ed2k isn't that large and can be reduced (the font size) to use nearly the same space as with the image.
I think an image is fine, maybe something a little more intuitive or prettier than the current one. I was thinking of one of the little mules in eMule+ that indicate what kind of client a person has, that would look nice I think...
I very much like the rightmost, natural colored, mule DonGato posted.
If you trim the neck, remove pixels from the bottom, you can reach a smaller height. And as the ed2k icon is alone at the right of the list, if it is 1 or 2 pixels higher than the rest, nobody will notice
To adress defeatist's request: is there enough space to add the text "ed2k" either after or in that image?
I don't think that the emule-icon is that much more intuitive than the emule-download-icon ^^;
Every emule user should know that icon, so I think it would be ok. The version with the additional text is too large to be useful I think.
Also keep in mind, that anidb has much lighter background colors than this forum, so the icon would stand out a little more.
To satisfy both fractions maybe one could combine the icon and the "ed2k" text by overlaying them, with a careful choice of colors that could be ok...
And for all the icons in anidb now, maybe we should add a link to a legend on every page using icons, where you can click on a "what is this" type of link and a window pops up with a list of icons and what they stand for, so that the n00bs will have an easier time...
