I just read about it and (shortly) tested a program named, err, "(A)nime (I)ndex (M)aker for (E)nhanced (E)asiness", you get the pun...
http://www.aimee-chan.de/

There are some screenshots at http://aimee-chan.bei.t-online.de/4screens.html (beware, german) and the executables themselves http://aimee-chan.bei.t-online.de/5download.html (german *or* english - I wouldn't have posted it otherwise )

A quote from the help: "This program might also be useful for Direct Connect- & Streamload-Users." ...so it's not meant to be of any special use in case of real P2P-programs...

Anyway, since its concepts might be of interest for you (I mean the anidb-client-developers ;)), you might want to have a look at it. :D

The List overview for example has some useful features:
- Using Icons for "series complete", "watched all", "watched some" might be more intuitive than the different colors for anime-names.
- A list similar to the website gives a quicker overview. Currently, it's not possible to get a (useful) list of all eps&files you have of a certain anime.

I already named the batch-cd-adding, but that one deserves its own thread ^^

You got me right - At least for me it's usually easier to compare and improve features instead of building them from scratch, that's why I posted this in the first place.

Because the website is always better. :P
