[MERGE] Godannar + 2nd season
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?s ... e&aid=1104 and http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?s ... e&aid=1612 should be merged, IMHO. Second season directly continues story and it's first episode, according to offsite, is #14.

There were a thread about splitting seasons recently, so *bump*.
For me it is same as in this thread.
For me it is same as in this thread.
Allcinema lists 2:
http://www.allcinema.net/prog/show_c.php?num_c=241933
http://www.allcinema.net/prog/show_c.php?num_c=320008
so i'm in favor of leaving it 2.
let me throw in a guess. going by your site it seems the dvd rel will only list it as godanner without any season tag added. kinda like gantz dvd rel was done.
so in the end it comes down to what episodeorder to follow. once more a case of r2 vs jap tv. ah isn't it fun...
anyway for the moment it's denied, but i'll add it to the thread:

I've checked files in DB, which are, presumably, TV and not DVD. Ep. 14+ opening shows logo two times - inside opening itself it does not have "second season" and then another logo right after opening is same as currently on site. There are episode numbers inside video as well. They are 14-26. There's no such thing as eps. 1-13 of "Godannar Second Season". It is not TV vs. DVD numbering issue. So, is there any other reasons not to merge them?
Screencaps are such a hassle. Wouldn't it suffice if I confirmed that he's telling the truth -- happened to have a few episodes on my hd, and the so-called episode 1 of 2nd season shows the episode number as 14, not 1.
(How does one one take a screencap of a video stream, btw? Everytime that I've tried, it ends up being blank -- I've heard that one is supposed to turn off the hardware acceleration, but that just causes all my video-players to crash on startup. -_- )

I don't think numbering should be the be-all and end-all of splitting/joining issues. For instance, the HxH ovas could quite easily be numbered upwards from the tv series, but I don't think that'd be a case for joining. The Keaton dvd eps *are* numbered up from the tv series, but I think having them as a separate entry is the sensible thing to do. Also, they changed the title graphic between season halfs? I'd say that was a good reason for keeping it in two halves.

"Could be easily numbered" or "have numbers x+1, x+2 (x - last episode in other entry) listed in video or official materials"? I think any entries that match second case must be merged without any other additional proof. Just because there's no separate anime with new 1-nnn numbering and listing some file that clearly says on it's title screen "#146 - some title" as "#5 of some anime season #7 - some title" is just plain wrong.
But if you really want to compare graphics, here you are:
Godannar #2:
00:02 - title screen
01:32 - Godannar logo with subbers for first half listed

Okay, another hypothetical, they start making more juuni kokuki tomorrow, and continue numbering from 46, as it's a continuation. Would you add to the existing entry? How about if they resumed mirai shounen conan? How about ribbon no kishi? How about you just accept numbers are not the be-all-and-end-all.
