Right, this has been bothering me for a while, but I don't really know Harlock well enough to fix it.
Not only is the graph a mess, it also has lots of redundant links, and is missing stuff.

Basicly there isn't much of a consistant timeline in how the different stories coexists. The easiest (and not so wrong) is probably to change most relations to Harlock to either "same setting" or "alternative setting".

Here is another option:

Sequel to Harlock Saga (in other word, as is)
Prequel to Meatel Legend (read it on the cover)
Same Setting to Ginga Tetsudou 999

You can actually make a sequel-full-circle from Ginga Tesudo 999 and back via Uchuu Kaizoku Captain Harlock and Maetel Legend.

So if somebody knows something about these Animes please feel free to change something here I don't know the series (haven't watched any of them yet) and don't know anything about the relations... I just wanted to mention that something is wrong there

lol i noticed the same thing recently.

Also wich relation should be used when its not too clear if its a sequel example city hunter.

I added the movies as parent story since it would have conflicted with the series that were already added but i made the other movies as sequel by year since city hunter 91 having 3 parent story could have been a bit messy too.

And should other be used when we notice an anime that is clearly linked to an other but we have not actually seen the anime.
For now i let it as that but thats a bit frustrating.

The relations of the Space Battleship Yamato series and movies are a bit off.

As is said in the database Yamato consists of three seasons and five movies. The season follow on each other and the first movie is an alternative version (a compilation) of the first season.

The second movie is a direct sequel to the first season (and by extension also to the first movie) and was made to be the definate ending to the series (won't spoil here but it would be very difficult to continue from the ending of this movie). This isn't reflected in the database.

The second season ignored the second movie - it is actually an alternative remake of that movie - and provided an alternative ending on which the third movie (and probably third series and the fourth and fifth movies) are based.

I dunno if it helps, but the Relations from:
"Shin Taketori Sen-Nen Joou TV", "Shin Taketori Sen-Nen Joou Movie", "Maetel Legend", "Uchuu Koukyoushi Maetel" and "Ginga Tetsudou 999 TV" are correct. This part of the story"line" deals with Maetel, her sister Emeraldas (later @ Harlock: Queen Emeraldas) and their mother Yayoi Yukino (at first Millennium Queen, then after her return Queen of LaMetal and finally after "Maetel Legend" Queen of the mechanized people) who as far as I know invaded/destroyed the earth which is thence the fuel for the whole Harlock part of the tree. About this last connection I don't know exactly, because I haven't seen the Harlock series so far but I think someone else should be capable of taking things on from here.

I think one wrong connection is the "Maetel Legend" -> "Harlock Saga" . The cover says that "Maetel Legend" is the sequel to "Harlock Saga", but the story of the "sequel" plays way before the story of the "prequel". As already said earth has to be invaded, BEFORE Harlock can start his freelance tour in order to free it from the mechanized people...
Thus I believe, that the info on the DVD cover is plain wrong and should instead be inverted in its meaning...

First:
Shin Taketori Monogatari ~ Sen-Nen Joou isn't related at all to Akai Kodan Zillion.

However, Shin Taketori Monogatari ~ Sen-Nen Joou is a prequel to Maetel Legend, since it's proven that the main female character Yukino Yayoi is Maetel's and Emeraldas mother, since in Maetel Legend, Yukino Yayoi is the name of Maetel's and Emeraldas' mother and the last Oueen Millennia.

Ginga Tetsudou 999: Glass no Clair is missing from the graph.

If you go by ANN it should be a prequel of Sayonara Ginga Tetsudou 999: Andromeda Shuuchakueki and a sequel of Ginga Tetsudou 999 (1979). I'll add it like that, yet I thought I should still provide my source (ANN) and a notification that I did it.
