I think that RahXephon Tagen Hensoukyoku is not a summary of RahXephon TV, but "alternate retelling". There are several differences between TV series of Rah and motion picture.

Weren't those things more like additions than different ways of telling the same? I don't recall changes in the story for the movie. I think retelling is too much for this.

Not different, just in RahXephon Tagen Hensoukyoku story continues a little more after ending from TV serie (added one scene taking place years later). Ending from TV serie was rather open and left things unexplained, ending from movie adds more meaning to this and closes part of story.
