avdump 0.31 - incorrect frame rates

Post by pseprodux »

for some files, it seems that avdump insists on giving a frame rate of 23.98, rounding up from the 23.976 that it's supposed to be:

Code: Select all

at first, i thought that it might be the "WARNING: Differs from video duration!" that was causing the frame rate to be calculated funny, but i found a "normal" file that does the same thing:

it's only in that output; it'll be (is) creqed right:
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?s ... avid=88637

(as a general note, the console output does not always correspond to what's done by the autocreqer. i've moved most of the decision making to the server and i'm not sure if i'll bother to keep the two "ends" synched. as avdump is for anidb use the output isn't really that interesting anymore. it's easy to fix the fps rounding, though)

i do think it would be nice if the output was (always) correct as well, for people (like myself) that use avdump to generate info about non-anime video files.

but that's cool, good to know.

I definitely agree with pseprodux, I use avdump to get information for alot of videofiles too, and not just for creqing. having correct output from it is very important in my opinion.
