(Ignoring the actual problem,) it might be good to change the log-message to clearly indicate that it didn't delete the actual file ^^;

I'm getting this as well, thought with only 1 file.

I deleted everything in the kowai folder except local_settings.xml and re-ran the client. The file that was acting up then parsed without error.

I think this might have something to do with the local_hashes or local_files items, but, since the first attempt fixed my problem I could do no further testing. On a side note, it seems to have added it properly to my mylist despite giving the weird error, so the Exception doesn't really appear to do anything, other than be visually disturbing.

Freakin windows security updates waxing all my auto-login stuff... anyhow, that last "Guest" post was mine.

edit... this was on version 0.5.1.219
Though I guess the date kinda gives it away

It did delete the actual file, it just didn't clean up after itself making stuff go wrong further down the chain trigering "some kind of list error".

Fixed in 0.5.2.

That may be just me, but I think a function that automatically deletes files should have the equivalent of "the big red button" plus some precautions (like hashing both files once more to make sure they didn't change in the meantime).

Since AoM can anyway hardly figure out which of the two (three, ...) files to delete on its own, even those users who'd indeed like to have their dupes removed as automatic as possible may profit from making it a bit more controllable. (I'm thinking of a "Delete x\a.avi", "Delete y\b.avi", "[ ] same for all dupes in x and y"-style window.)

However, does your "did delete" imply that it doesn't anymore?

Well, this message:
[2004-04-16 08:08:03] ! TAniDBLocalFiles.Update: Found duplicate of "z:\anime\wolf's rain\wolf`s rain - 15 - ashen wolf [keep-anbu].avi"! Deleting...
Simply means it's a duplicate entry in the local cache, the path occurs twice in local_files for no reason, hashing data etc is stored based on size + ed2k, no per path. The autodelete function doesn't have anything to do with deleting files on your hdd, AOM can NOT delete files on your hdd.

In that case, I uphold my original suggestion to make clear that it does not delete the actual file ;) [:P]
