[AOM] Problem with user name and connection. [NOBUG]

Post by Zephirum »

Can't find any stick about the posting rule... so not sure about what AOM stands for and should we put the [BUG] in front of the title or not.

anyway.

I am trying to use my user name: kl3141
first time I mangaed to log in, with some of my info showed up
but I keep on getting disconnected, and the log in menu showed up saying that my user name is invalid.

second time when I opened the prog. It simply times out. :(
I've tried to open the port that the prog is running on, doesnt really help.

should I get a new user name and rebuild my wishlist?

thanks in advance.

EDIT: My bad... I know what AOM stands for now :o

EDIT2: Sorry for all the trouble guys, the problem was fixed easily : by deleting the folder and overwrite it with fresh new copy.

The problem was that for my first entry of username and password, I typed "kl_3141" which is what I am used to. Of course, AOM nor AniDB support underscore, therefore result in error. Although I changed the username and pw to the correct one, somehow AOM does not recognise it fully and still show the error message...

Currently it connected then disconnected to AniDB server, and it is downloading a file.... hopefully it is on the right track.

EDIT3:

[2004/3/17 ?? 09:47:20] + Illegal input when logging in, please only use ASCII characters.

EDIT4:

problem seem to be fixed finally after a series of restarting.

I seem to get alot of this:
[2004/3/17 下午 09:47:20] + Illegal input when logging in, please only use ASCII characters.

that's probably because I am using Chinese Windows XP.

even though I changed the date for mate I still get this:

[2004/3/18 AM 12:17:46] - Executing new AniDB command.
[2004/3/18 AM 12:17:48] - Converting and saving new mylist data.
[2004/3/18 AM 12:17:48] - Loading mylist data...
[2004/3/18 AM 12:17:48] - Mylist data loaded after 125 milliseconds.
[2004/3/18 AM 12:17:48] - New mylist data saved after 218 milliseconds.
[2004/3/18 AM 12:17:48] - Executing new AniDB command.
[2004/3/18 AM 12:18:20] + Illegal input when logging in, please only use ASCII characters.

both my password and user name are only using alphabets and numbers.

I am suspecting the problem is caused by pathname containing chinese.
