[AOM] hashing of this file crashes hasing thread [FIXED]

Post by exp »

Yo,

I have this file here:
ed2k://|file|niea-under-7-05.avi|206450818|256c239b4ba0186ffef5e29ceac0b3ba|

When AoM tries to hash it it stops at 99,20% and
clicking the Pause or Abort buttons will display a
"Thread Error: The handle is invalid (6)" error message.

BennieB needs spanking, it's the AviInfo thingie crashing!
I'm fixing "something" to work around this for the next release.

A similar error:
while hashing Scrapped_Princess_-_15_-_Opera_Of_Power_And_Plot_-_[Keep-ANBU](76c4abb0)[AniDB].avi
progress bar stops at 98.2%, abort, pause and stop are clickable but have no effect beside changing state of the buttons.

It works fine for the file I downloaded with ed2k:
ed2k://|file|ScrappedPrincess-15-OperaOfPowerAndPlot[Anime-Keep&ANBU]{76c4abb0}.avi|172087296|e0f01bc42d8ba2c3632341126adec578|/

It's a bug when trying to find the codec if I recall correctly...
Maybe you have different sets of codecs, it should be interesting to find. Try posting GSpot results for those files!

Looks like an answer ...

[EDIT: why this img tag does not work ??]
[EDIT by wahaha: Ask the "Disable BBCode in this post"-checkbox ;)]
[EDIT2: what codec should I use ? I have both XviD and DivX5 installed]

What codecs you have installed shouldn't matter as AOM doesn't use them.

DirectShow rendering failed... it did for each file I had that AOM could not hash properly.

I am really interested why just ep.15 fails to render... I got the whole anime, all other episodes are ok, and it's all the same codec ... :? Any suggestions?
