Zakura CSS

Hey everyone,

I released a new style dubbed Zakura. Check out a preview at http://wiki.anidb.info/w/AniDB:CSS_styles or just apply it with http://anidb.zakness.com/zakura.css

I was able to pass this off as a final project for my Typography class, so the emphasis was on increasing readability by increasing contrast, adding more white space, and making the font a bit larger in general. Oh and I made a bunch of new icons as well.

Any and all opinions welcome, thanks!

wow, i like your css a lot..it looks great.

bugs (without really looking hard for them):
Image

and in opera (which i know you said you haven't tested yet),

Image

(the expand '+' image has this thing to the right of it)

also, opera really chokes up and eats cpu during the highlighting (when you mouse over) of the list of files when you expand an episode, but that might be something to do with opera's rendering itself.

a nice addition might be having a fixed menu like mehyaa did in his altered harustyle, but again, it looks darn good at the moment.

Thanks to those who commented so far, I appreciate the feedback!

@pseprodux: Thanks for the shots, I fixed the latest files thing... opera is for another day (namely after we get the css svn up) ;).

@ricce: sweet, thanks! i'll link it on the wiki.

We might still need a bit of time for that :P
Discussions on how to structure the repository are still ongoing.

In case anyone is interested, anonymous read access is possible:

It's a known issue of opera, it will also apply to IE 6.

@zak if you make select combos flat like input boxes (by giving a 1px solid border), it will be nicer i think.

By the way AniDB is very beautiful that it never was before with this style (sorry b1nhkun ;)) so i want to say good job again :)

And @exp thanks for the SVN address, if u (all of you :)) using it actively it will be very usefull for other style developers who create the styles which are based the styles on SVN.

@mehyaa: no need to apologise, he did a great work :>
That SVN-Thing looks quite useful, I think I'll use it when I start on a new design :>

You can find SVN GUI for windows here:
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/
http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads

And this link is for SVN main page:
http://subversion.tigris.org/

It is great because i'm using it. It is good to hear AniDB Dev Team is using it too :)

Brown 2 css

I'm not sure but it seems that PetriW's brown2.css has been changed very recently and I was wondering if I could somehow get a copy of the previous version to host myself?

The problem with the newer version is that the left column (dark brown) with the search bar is no longer attached to the main page (scrolling-wise), and when I increase the text size the search bar goes off the bottom, and since only the main page scrolls I can't get to it. Plus for some reason the scrolling is choppy/slow in any of the styles with stationary menus. Norwegian Blue has had the same problem for me for a long time, and actually you can see what the old version of brown looked like in the screenshot at http://wiki.anidb.info/w/AniDB:Css_styles

In the brown screenshot the off-color left column ends while in the blue.css it doesn't. Now brown's column is continuous like blues.

If someone has an old version or can tell me what to edit in the css file I'd really appreciate your help. My eyes will be much obliged.
