Hi,
I'm currently watching Great Teacher Onizuka, and I'm at episode 23.
The show is nice but not great.

My question is, does the story evolves, and gets to a main story line, or will the rest of the episodes keep been somewhat random like all the previous ones?

I think all episodes are somewhat about main story. The middle of GTO is not that great as the beginning and the ending, though. If you didn't like the beginning, then probably you shouldn't watch the rest=)

I liked it, but not liked it to watch 43 episodes of the same thing.

Theres no real Story line or Plot to GTO. Just a series of mini story arcs that involves different students of his class.
