Anyone know why this show was stopped being subbed?

two reasons:
1. subgroups are busy at the moment with something else.
2. they are planing on dropping it, but they are still not sure.
if you need more info go ask the subgroup.
my personal opnion: it sucks.

It's actually a sequel, as you will spot if you look at this graph:

so while it might very well be bad, I wouldn't call it a rip.
